Sunlight in the Quran
Assalamu alaykum, my dear brothers and sisters,
As Muslims, we believe that the Quran is a divine book that contains timeless wisdom and knowledge. One of the many amazing things about the Quran is that it includes scientific facts that were unknown at the time of its revelation. One such example is the Quran's mention of the sun's movement, which aligns with modern scientific findings.
According to current scientific understanding, the sunlight we receive on Earth is the result of a chemical reaction that has been occurring for billions of years. However, scientists predict that this reaction will eventually cease, causing the Earth to become uninhabitable. This process is estimated to take another billion years.
On the other hand, the Quran, in chapter 36 verse 38, states that the sun is moving on a course towards a predetermined place for a predetermined time. This aligns with modern scientific findings that the sun, along with the entire solar system, is traveling towards a point in the universe known as the solar Apex located in the constellation of Hercules at a speed of 13 kilometers per second. The Quranic verse and scientific discoveries both suggest that the sun's movement is predetermined and that it will eventually reach its destination.
The Quran's accuracy in scientific matters is a testament to its divine origin and a reminder that we should strive to seek knowledge and appreciate the wonders of Allah's creation. As Muslims, we should be proud of our faith and use it as a means to seek knowledge and understand the world around us.
May Allah guide us on the path of knowledge and righteousness. Ameen.
