Prenatal Process in the Quran
The miracle of the prenatal process in the Quran is truly remarkable. Surah Al-Mu'minun, chapter 23 verses 12 to 14 describe the stages of prenatal development in great detail. It starts with the creation of man from a quintessence, then the placement of the sperm in a place of rest firmly fixed. The Quran then describes the formation of a clot of congealed blood, followed by the creation of a lump of flesh, which is then developed into another creature.
Modern scientific understanding confirms the accuracy of the Quranic description. The fertilized egg attaches itself to the uterine wall, forming a clot of congealed blood. Then, the embryo takes shape and develops organs, which aligns with the formation of a lump. Subsequently, the formation of bones and clothing them with flesh occur, which corresponds with skeletal and muscular development. Finally, the embryo develops into a fully formed baby, which is referred to as "another creature" in the Quran.
The Quran's description of the prenatal process is an incredible testament to its accuracy and divine origin. It is another example of how the Quran contains knowledge that could not have been known to humanity at the time of its revelation. As Muslims, we should reflect on these miracles and use them as a reminder of Allah's power and wisdom in creating us.
