Pain Receptors in the Quran
Assalamu alaykum, dear brothers and sisters,
One of the many remarkable aspects of the Quran is its scientific accuracy. The Quran contains numerous verses that describe natural phenomena in ways that were beyond the understanding of people at the time it was revealed. One such example is the description of pain receptors in the skin.
Medical science once believed that the brain was solely responsible for the sensation of pain. However, it is now known that there are specific pain receptors located in the skin which are responsible for the experience of pain. Without these pain receptors, a person cannot feel pain.
In the case of a burn injury, a doctor may prick the affected area with a pin. If the patient feels pain, it indicates that the burn is superficial and the pain receptors are functioning. Conversely, if the patient does not feel pain, it indicates a deep burn and the pain receptors have been damaged.
The Quran confirms the existence of pain receptors in the skin. In chapter 4, verse 56, Allah says that those who reject His signs will be cast into Hellfire, and as their skins are roasted, fresh skin will be given to them so that they will feel the pain.
This verse is a clear indication of the Quran's scientific accuracy and divine origin. It also serves as a reminder of the importance of believing in Allah's signs and obeying His commands. May Allah guide us on the path of knowledge and righteousness. Ameen.
