Mathematical Miracle in the Quran
The Quran is a miraculous book that contains numerous mathematical miracles. One such miracle can be found in Surah Al-Kahf, the 18th chapter of the Quran. In this chapter, the story of the people of the cave is mentioned, where it is said that they stayed in their cave for 300 years, and added nine more years. This has led to a question whether it means 300 years or 309 years.
If we consider the solar and lunar year, we know that a solar year has 365 days and a lunar year has 354 days, leaving a difference of 11 days. Thus, 300 solar years would be approximately equal to 309 lunar years.
Another interesting fact is that the Arabic word "labathou" meaning "they stayed" first appeared in verse 12 and the last time it is mentioned is in verse 26. There are exactly 309 words in between these two verses. Additionally, the word "thalatham" meaning "300" appeared as the 300th word. These numerical coincidences cannot be explained by chance and further emphasize the precision and accuracy of the Quranic text.
The Quran's mathematical miracles continue to fascinate scholars and believers alike, demonstrating the divine origin of the book and its timeless relevance in guiding humanity towards the path of righteousness.
